This article attempts to simplify the UNIX or POSIX permissions. Let’s discuss permissions for a standard file. Let’s assume we have a file called permission_test.sh. The result of the ls -l permission_test.sh is:

I am assuming that you know what a file and/or a directory is, a directory is also called a folder. Well, a mount-point is simply the directory or file for which e device, normally a disk, either local or remote, is exposed to the system for interaction. As the first article, I decided to discuss the “Shebang“, also called many different ways: sha-bang, hashbang, pound-bang, or hash-pling.
In the UNIX world, there are scripts, in Linux for example, you will find a lot of “bash” scripts, when you edit one of these scripts there is a line at the top of the script, which looks something like:
